Season's greetings, everyone! Yes, it's that time of year again. Another great reason to dress up and look, feel, and be merry. This week we have the latest trend in fashion—
Winter Garb
! A delightful combination of fine firs, combined with smooth, delectable velvet.
Unfortunately, the Winter Collection this year is going fast! If
you're
having a hard time finding that perfect piece to complement your winter ensemble, never fear! I have all the answers you seek
right here
. Stay tuned!
Hat
There are two types of Winter Hats in-game: a
Sombrero de invierno rojo
and a
Sombrero de invierno verde
. Each year during Winter Veil the two festive headpieces drop from high level bosses in five player dungeons. At first, they were common quality items which one person could pick up from the selected boss' dead body. That was changed, and they are now uncommon quality. Because they are bind on pickup, only characters present at the boss kill may get the chance to loot the item. Bosses wearing a winter hat have a chance to drop it, as well as any random hat-wearing creature in the world. Here's a short list of this year's Winter Veil participants who drop a hat 100% of the time:
Grand Magus Telestra
of
The Nexus
(Red)
Jedoga Shadowseeker
of
The Old Kingdom
(Red)
Mage-Lord Urom
of
The Oculus
(Green)
Chest
The core of an outfit is its top and bottom, and our winter garb is no exception. Here we have the
Ropa de invierno roja
and
Ropa de invierno verde
. They are crafted by a tailor (requires 250 tailoring skill), can be bought or traded between players, and anyone can pick up the recipe for only 50 silver! Please note, current tailors at 250 or higher will probably receive the pattern in the mail as a Winter Veil gift from Greatfather Winter.
The following list includes the NPC names and locations where one may purchase the pattern(s). Members of the Horde may run into Ironforge to speak with the goblins, and hopefully, obtain the recipe before being spotted by Alliance players. Members of the Alliance may do the same to obtain the Horde pattern.

Wulmort Jinglepocket

Patrón: ropa de invierno verde

Penney Copperpinch
in Orgrimmar
Boots
The final component to a subtle, yet traditional touch to our winter garb is a pair of simple black boots with a rugged sole and a shiny copper buckle. Handcrafted, these boots may not be the most comfortable, but whoever said fashion had to feel good? It's all about putting some pride in your stride!
Leatherworkers at a skill of 285 may learn the
Patrón: botas de invierno
. As with the tailoring patterns, leatherworkers who were 285 or higher at the time of the event should receive the pattern in the mail. If not, it too may be purchased at the above vendors. Thankfully, Alliance and Horde players both have access to them from their own capital—no need to brave the grid iron to learn how to craft these puppies!
All That and a Stack of Fruitcakes
So all this trendware leads to an achievement. Surprised? There is a trick, though – one must sample some of
Pastel de macedonia y carne de Graccu
while in full winter garb. After all,
'Tis the Season!
This passing week I have worn a real life red winter hat (I prefer to call them Santa hats myself). I work security for a major international corporation, so try to imagine the faces of people entering a secured facility only to be greeted by a uniformed guard at a metal detector wearing a bright red winter hat. This is something I do every year –
what, if any, little traditions or customs do
you
participate in this time of year?
