There's No Such Thing as a Cheap Lunch

I feel like I might have been a little too down on PvP last time, so I'd like to continue my Street Fighter metaphor from my
last post
. To that end, I have a shocking revelation for many of you:
“Being cheap” doesn't exist in competitive games.
I, like everyone else, have fallen repeatedly to rogues in PvP situations where I've been simply stunlocked from 100% health until I die, and frequently even by rogues that have worse gear or are lower level than me, just like I've lost against people in Street Fighter that do nothing but jump kick/sweep.
We all know that classes have had balance issues in the past, and will continue to have balance issues in the future (though some might argue they're worse now than they have been), Blizzard isn't perfect, but when you get demolished in PvP by a Death Knight, ask yourself: Do you say, “Oh, well, it's a DK, so it doesn't count” or do you say, “Hmm, okay, what can I do differently next time to increase my odds of winning?”
Now, please understand me, I'm not saying that Death Knights aren't overpowered. There have always been overpowered classes, and there's always been a certain amount of ebb and flow to class balances. One class dominates high level PvP, so they get nerfed, and someone else excels, so they get nerfed, everyone gets a buff, this patch favors this class more than others... on and on and on. It's part of the WoW experience.
What I
am
saying that is when faced with a (sometimes overwhelming) class imbalance, you have two choices: Work to step up your game in the face of odds that are stacked against you, or take the ball and go home.
It's a choice that sucks, I admit, but while toughing it out and getting your butt kicked repeatedly can be frustrating, it's also the best way to get better. If you only play when the odds are balanced, you're gimping your training regimen.
Also, please note that I'm talking about dealing with class balances and proven strategies. A hunter flagging an unsuspecting player with a trap then killing them isn't “cheap”, that's just an exploit—and poor sportsmanship to the extreme. But if you feel like Warlocks are overpowered because you keep getting chain fear-ed (this is purely hypothetical, of course), what better opportunity could you have to practice ways to get around being feared? And if you learn how to deal with that, what chance could a warlock have in the
next
patch?
