World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™
March 2012 Media Event FAQ
Q: What is
World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™
Escalating tensions between the Alliance and Horde have broken out into open warfare. The roar of cannons blacken the sky while naval engagements around the globe fill the seas with blood. As the clash of mortal armies spins the world into chaos, a continent -- once shielded by impenetrable mists -- suddenly manifests itself in the southern oceans. There’s no question that this resource-rich new land will be at the center of a global conflict. Will the Mists of Pandaria part to reveal Azeroth’s salvation? Or will this new battlefield become the flashpoint that pushes the Alliance and Horde over the brink into
Brand New Hairstyles on the 4.2 PTR
15/05/2011 a las 15:15
A number of races got additional hairstyles on the PTR this weekend! We’ve taken advantage of the race/faction changing-options to find out what exactly you can get on the PTR: we've got screenshots and names of all the available cosmetic options.
Of course, there’s been hairstyles on previous PTRs that weren’t implemented, but with so many additions, hopefully some will stay--these seem to be generating quite a buzz, so maybe it will even encourage Blizzard to add more. We'll keep updating if more customizations become available.
The Weekly Marmot - Taking out the Trash
01/03/2011 a las 16:04
This week's discussion centers around "equally interesting yet non-epic-dropping non-bosses", otherwise referred to as "trash mobs". Why are they there? Are they just there to be a time sink? Or are there actually some real benefits to having trash in a raid instance?
Cataclysm New Races Preview: Goblins & Worgens
24/11/2010 a las 21:46
We recently reviewed all of the
new class / race combinations
that were made available in The Shattering. Tons of players are eagerly rolling new characters, and many have changed existing characters into these snazzy new combinations. In fact, as I'm writing this, there's a tauren shadow priest standing right in front of me -
and I'm okay with that
. But some of you guys are still waiting for the Cataclysm, which'll bring the highly-anticipated, even more exciting option:
worgen and goblin player characters
We've compiled a bit of information (which can regularly be found in our
) to give you guys even more to be excited about! So what do you guys think - are goblin racials overpowered? Is
? What goblin or worgen classes will
be making come Cataclysm?

Cataclysm: New Class & Race Combinations
23/11/2010 a las 09:00
One of the features that will be going live with patch 4.0.3a are the new Race/Class combinations
. This has been in our
for a while but we figured you might appreciate a nice clean table to ponder over while you wait for the servers to come back up.
: To clarify questions being asked in the comments:
When maintenance is complete, you will be able to choose any of the new combinations denoted by the symbol in the "Added in 4.0.3a" table below
. However, you will need to purchase Cataclysm and wait until December 7th before you can roll a Goblin or Worgen.

Goblin and Worgen Faction/Race Changes Available at Launch
09/11/2010 a las 23:16
Blizzard announced something I know quite a few of us have been waiting for:
Worgen and Goblins
will be available on launch day!
There is a little caveat to the way paid services work for goblins and worgen: either of them wishing to change races or factions cannot be in either Gilneas or Lost Isles. There is no restrictions on on players wishing to change to goblins or worgen.
With two new playable races just on the horizon, many players have been asking when they'll be able to convert their existing characters into goblins or worgen. Paid faction and race changes will be available immediately once Cataclysm is released. Realm First achievements for leveling any class to 85 will be available in Cataclysm. However there will be no Realm First achievements associated with leveling characters of a specific race.
There will be a slight change to the way paid services work for goblins and worgen. Goblin and worgen characters wishing to change race or faction cannot be in Lost Isles or Gilneas; they must be elsewhere to initiate the proc
Worgen Female Dance Has Arrived!

In the new beta build that is being released today Blizzard has finally implemented the
female Worgen dance
! The new dance is based on
by Lady Gaga.
We have some animated images of several sections of the dance below, hopefully we will be able to get a video of the new dance up as soon as the servers are back online!
We have a video posted on our YouTube channel at
There are also animated .gif versions after the break!
Cataclysm: New Worgen Male Models
21/07/2010 a las 16:11
In latest Cataclysm beta build new models for male
's have been added. The new models change is mostly in the facial area where it looks like Blizzard was trying to go for a more feral look. You can check out a comparison of the old and new models on the right.
So now that you've seen the new models,
what are your opinions
? Is this change for the better or for the worse?
Gnomes Back in Gnomeregan?
09/10/2009 a las 03:07
There have been many jokes about the gnomes not being able to take their capital Gnomeregan back, despite the fact that there are quite a few gnome NPCs with level and gear sufficient enough to obliterate every single trogg and leper gnome in immediate proximity. Well, we
get to see the end of those jokes in
! Some two weeks ago "PC Gamer" magazine revealed some new information about the upcoming expansion, but it seems like one of the things was majorly overlooked: a hint that gnomes might be going back home!
Here's what the short caption on the image reads:
After 5 years of players purging Gnomeregan of its irradiated inhabitants, Gnomes may finally be able to reclaim their home as a new capital city for Alliance... until they mess it up again.
Without jumping to conclusions, it is highly probable (in my opinion at least) that Gnomeregan will be introduced in Cataclysm. Whether it is going to be there at launch, or players will go through a series of phasing quests to "purge" the place for good is of little relevance. The only problem is that we may very well get our super excited little fr
[Spoilers] Speculated Details About Upcoming Expansion!
10/08/2009 a las 14:50
Details that have been speculated from a few sources about the upcoming expansion named World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, have been released: the factions to which each race (Goblin and Worgen) will belong. Though this information may be obvious to some people, a spoiler alert has been added as a precaution. The speculated information is right after the break!
Dark Riders, Tree Branches, & Evil Dudes--Oh, My!
14/03/2009 a las 23:44
My goal in writing entries such as this remains simple: to encourage readers to get back in the game and do those quests they never even knew existed, to explore and go where no other has so boldly gone before, and to come back here to tell us about their experiences or interpretations. If you like reading these entries help spread the word--it's bird! Er, blog--I MEAN BLOG! Tell your friends about our blog!
In my last entry I covered a lot of information concerning the history and origins of worgen. There is a plethora of lore surrounding the worgen and I fear we only got a glimpse of it last time. Follow along this week as we tackle the Dark Riders, Scythe of Elune, and some sinister wizard-wannabes, the likes of which you've always hated when leveling up. Ugh!
Worgen - E.D. With Attitude
01/03/2009 a las 03:36
They are fearless. They are many. They are entire dimensions from home.
I'm talking about worgen, a race of wolf-men creatures which somewhat contrast the nature-loving furbolg (read about those furries
). Worgen are extra-dimensional creatures, as best our undead friends can tell, which exist for the sole purpose of destroying anything and everything they encounter. They were thought to be tame, or at least tame enough to be controlled for the purposes of good, but the worgen secretly mutinied against their new found masters.
Despite differences between furbolg, worgen, and myself there's one thing we all share in common—
we're really hungry!
